New Website Unites Independent Filmmakers with the Post Production Industry via Virtual Bidding

(ContentDesk) December 6, 2005 -- Bid2post.com, a new website designed by post-production industry executive Steve Spear, provides a simple, user-friendly platform for filmmakers to locate and procure post-production services online. Additionally, the website gives post-production service providers an outlet to search through and bid on a comprehensive list of new projects.Bid2post.com is an invaluable resource for me, said Straw Weisman, President of Marquee Productions and independent film producer. I simply post projects online and then wait for the bids to come in. Utilizing the reverse auction format, the website provides a virtual board where Executive members ¬ including post-production supervisors, filmmakers and content owners can post their projects for service providers to view and bid on. Bid2post.com gives me more options, saving me time and effort, Weisman concluded. This site fills the broad communication gap for both content owners and service providers who had, until now, relied on traditional methods for contracting vendors or increasing sales, said Bid2post.com President and Founder Steve Spear. A 12 year post-production veteran and independent filmmaker, Spear developed the website after discovering the lack of online resources for both filmmakers and post-production service providers.

I wanted to create a virtual community where filmmakers and service providers could manage the post production process quickly and easily in an environment that is mutually beneficial.Matt McFarland, President of Cranium Inc., and Bid2post.com Service Provider member, said of the website instead of calling around to find out if my services are needed, I am automatically alerted by e-mail when a new job is posted and immediately connected with individuals who are specifically looking for what I do. The site supplies Service Provider members like McFarland with a single location for multiple project viewing. Bid2post.com increases my sales opportunities while significantly decreasing the amount of time spent searching for new jobs. Spear sees the site not only as a bidding and project management tool for filmmakers and post-production service providers, but as a single access point for industry resources. This site is a full process management tool in the greatest sense. We will have a multitude of features that go beyond just posting and bidding. This site will give members the ability to manage the entire post-production process from end-to-end, simply and seamlessly.

It will include features such as resource links, storefronts, classifieds, want ads and up to the minute industry news and information. Bid2post.com offers two types of memberships to choose from Executive and Service Provider that are accessible by registering free of charge.
